No Bill Returned In Klan Shooting

Aiken County Grand Jury returned a no bill on seven men charged in December shotgun attack on a Klu Klux Klansmen rally near Wagener. Solicitor Fox said insufficient evidence to proceed but the case can be reopened with new findings. Eight wounded. six treated and released, two needed surgery. Rally held on land rented to the Klan by Joe Collins on Highway 138.

Vesco Ordered To Repay IOS Five Point Five Million

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Melvin Antell ruled Vesco must repay IOS $5.5 million for the 1970 takeover calling it piracy against IOS treasure.
