Thurmond says Interstate 73 fight still on in Carolinas
Myrtle Beach reports the interstate 73 dispute between North and South Carolina officials remains active. Senator Strom Thurmond asserts the battle continues after NC won a round by routing the highway across its state coast, while SC plans to push the route west via Bennettsville to Conway. A deal brokered by Faircloth and Warner shifts segments to Roanoke and eastward toward Brunswick County, crossing the border on US 17 near Little River.
