Edgefield residents and NCAP leaders gathered at Macedonia Baptist Church to urge action after Justin Craven's plea deal in the 2014 Ernest Satterwhite Sr. shooting. A 1 p.m. protest at the Edgefield County courthouse targeted Donnie Myers and Judge Frank Addy Jr. for stepping down or risk a boycott economy in Augusta and surrounding counties.
At 1 p.m. today a protest forms in Edgefield County Court House scene over Justin Craven’s jail sentence. Rivers and Johnson backed Craven’s firing from city job as building standards inspector. Attendees include Johnsons family and Edgefield NAACP head Rev Eldwin Griffin.
The city disclosed Craven's public service pay ranges from Aug 2009 to May 2016. He served as a fire fighter, building standards inspector, and public safety officer with salaries ranging from 16 315 to a high of 46 000 plus in a 4 000 increment framework.
