Alabama moves forward on Scottsboro Boys pardons
Efforts continue in Alabama to secure posthumous pardons for the Scottsboro Boys. A new law lets pardons be pursued via court and district attorney petitions, with a public hearing and board vote. Sheila Washington says applications will be filed soon, aided by University of Alabama research. A supporting resolution labels the nine as victims of gross injustice and exonerates them.
