Relay For Life Honorary Chairs Share Cancer Battles
Debbie Hobbs and Erin Stewart, breast cancer survivors, will chair the Aiken County Relay for Life on May 16 at 7 p.m. They recount diagnosis shocks, chemotherapy months, and the overwhelming support from families, church members, and friends that helped sustain them. Stewart joined Relay in 2002 after a lump was found. Hobbs was diagnosed five years ago and has attended every year. Both credit the event with fostering a hopeful outlook and community bonding as they carry the Survivors’ Walk banner.
