New England Leads 1985 Personal Income Growth

New England posted the fastest income growth in 1985 driven by a high tech boom, with the region up 6.6 percent to an average per capita of 15 387. Alaska topped states at 17 756 while Mississippi remained lowest at 9035. Nationwide income rose 5.3 percent to 13 451.
