Atlanta Police Scrutiny Grows on Deaths Probe

Mayor Maynard Jackson and metro officials acknowledged the unsolved killings of 26 youths are harder to crack and require more resources. Fulton County Police Chief Clinton Chafin and DeKalb Public Safety Director Dick Hand said joint efforts face coordination issues while investigators avoid duplicating the Atlanta task force. Hand noted 20 to 30 investigators are handling four cases in his jurisdiction.
