Subcontractors Lien Ties to Westinghouse V C Summer Project
A second mechanic’s lien related to the V C Summer project was filed by Fluor Enterprises for 59.95 million plus interest on March 23, ahead of Westinghouse bankruptcy on March 29. The lien notes subcontractors hired by Westinghouse and confirms Westinghouse remains responsible for payments. SCANA and Santee Cooper extended a 60 day interim funding period during which co owners pay construction costs. SCE&G serves about 54,000 electric customers in Aiken County with nine rate increases since 2008 funding V C Summer interest costs.
