Legal Secretaries Flock To Aiken For Convention

More than 100 legal secretaries from across South Carolina gathered at the Ramada Inn in Aiken for the 16th annual SC Legal Secretaries convention. Nancy Baskin of Columbia was installed as president by S C Supreme Court Judge Julian Ness. Lois Carman of Columbia reflected on a long career and shared memories of Aiken.

Small Fire Damages USC Aiken Faculty Lounge

A small fire damaged the faculty lounge in the administration building at USC Aiken on Friday, with waterproofing material used on a wall socket that caught fire. The incident was reported at 4 30 p m and damage was estimated at about $2 000 according to the department.
