Seventh annual Fishing Rodeo at Graniteville Canal

The Graniteville Canal hosts the seventh annual Fishing Rodeo from nine in the morning to one in the afternoon. Kids 13 and under, with an adult, fish for catfish and keep their catch. The largest fish wins a prize. cane poles are required for safety, but poles and bait are provided. Free refreshments and prize drawings.

Volunteers start coast-to-coast concert tour in Aiken

The U S Army Field Band Volunteers wrapped a 28 day Southeast tour with a high energy Hopeland Gardens show in Aiken. The five piece group performed pop jazz country rock and patriotic numbers drawing praise from locals including Sedely Roach and Doug Craig who praised lead singer Sgt Timothy Wells and noted the band’s rare nonstop crowd response.
