City Council approves MOU with SCDOT for traffic impacts at Ballpark Village
Council amended a contract update detailing budget, GMP and expenditures. The amendment passed unanimously and the resolution cleared 6-1 with James Adams in opposition. A second resolution authorized a memorandum of understanding between North Augusta and the South Carolina Department of Transportation to address traffic impacts related to the Ballpark Village at Hammond's Ferry. The MOU, born from discussions in a work session, aims to mitigate future traffic issues as the city seeks an encroachment permit for stadium construction. Council also met in executive session to discuss Project Jackson with no action. Employee of the Quarter honors went to Mandy Nelson and Tim Stembridge. Riverview Park gym additions progress eyed with a July Peach Jam lobby completion target and a February 2018 full renovation completion.
