Wind-fueled wildfire roars through Riverside County foothills
A wind-driven blaze in Riverside County near Banning expanded over two square miles and threatened subdivisions north of San Bernardino. About 425 firefighters battled the fast-moving fire aided by six helicopters and six air tankers. One structure burned as evacuations affected homes on two streets with winds around 29 mph potentially pushing the blaze toward Cherry Valley and Beaumont.
