Educator finds calling at Youth Challenge Academy
Pam Graves abandoned school administration after 14 years to teach science and social studies at the South Carolina Youth Challenge Academy based at Camp Long. The five month program guides teens 16 to 18 who dropped out toward GED or diploma, with strict routines and outdoor environmental education. Graves aims to give students practical skills, from budgeting to environmental principles, while sharing her 20 years in science education.
