Road map blueprint offered to end 31 months of violence
International mediators unveiled a US backed Middle East road map to halt 31 months of violence and create a Palestinian state. Abbas and Sharon received the plan in Ramallah and Jerusalem as Bush officials signaled renewed push for peace, with phased steps including Palestinian crackdown on terror and Israeli settlement freeze. The outline also envisions a Palestinian state with provisional borders, final issues to be resolved later, and possible White House talks with Bush.
