Saltstone Unit 6 earns DOE project excellence award
The EM Saltstone Disposal Unit 6 team at Savannah River Site received the 2018 Project Management Excellence Award for completing the $118 million mega cell 18 months early. SDU 6, completed July 2017, holds a 32.8 million gallon capacity and is the site’s first mega-volume saltstone unit for low level radioactive waste.
