Teen charged in connection to Plunkett Avenue shooting
A 17 year old from Aiken, William Simmons Jr., faces charges including discharging a firearm in the city and unlawfully carrying a pistol after a March 8 shooting at 457 Plunkett Ave. Two men were wounded and treated for non life threatening injuries. Simmons was arrested March 10 and jailed at the Aiken County detention center.

Traffic Delays Expected on Powderhouse Road Repairs
Residents may face delays on Powderhouse Road with one lane closed and flagmen directing traffic from Whiskey to Pine Log roads as College Acres Public Works completes repairs after two water mains broke earlier this month. Repairs began Wednesday and should finish today with normal traffic resuming. The notice also invites the public to neighborhood meetings featuring city officials and security talks at local churches and USC Aiken campus.
