Motive sought in North Carolina nursing home rampage

Authorities pursue a domestic angle after Robert Stewart killed seven residents and a nurse at Pinelake Health and Rehab in Carthage Moore County. Police say the shooter acted non randomly and the motive remains unclear as detectives gather information. Stewart’s estranged wife Wanda Luck, a certified nurse assistant at the facility, is being investigated as a possible lead.

Six dead in California family on family shooting

Six people were shot to death at a Rivermark home in Santa Clara with a seventh person critically wounded. Police say the victims include a 10-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, two men in their 30s and 40s, a woman in her early 30s, and a hospitalized woman in her mid-30s. Investigators believe all victims are related and that the suspect appears to be among the dead. Handguns were recovered. motive under investigation.
