Marines train Afghan police and detain insurgents in Afghanistan
Marine Cpl Dustin Pollard of Aiken and fellow riders with 3rd Battalion 8th Marines deployed at Camp Lejeune operate with SPMAGTF A in Afghanistan. They trained 150 Afghan national policemen and partnered to target insurgent cells along Route 515. They uncovered explosives caches and detained 11 suspects. Pollard, a 2006 Gilbert High graduate, serves in ground combat element.
