Holley family hosted Hotel Aiken from 1929 to 2001 expanding to 65 rooms and adding the Polo Tavern bar popular with locals. After sale to Kishan Shah the site retained its two star rating, claims of hauntings linger about Rooms 225 and 302, and the building touts the oldest manually operated elevator in South Carolina.
