Bus Crash In North Carolina Involves Four Charter Buses
About 160 students traveling to Washington DC on four chartered buses were involved when the third bus collided with a tractor trailer near Smithfield NC around 2 30 am. Fifty children and several chaperones were treated for minor injuries at Johns Hopkins Hospital and other facilities. Driver James S Troy was airlifted, treated for a broken leg, and listed in good condition. Charges were filed against three drivers for passing on the right.
