Whiskey Road to Silver Bluff Road Connector Begins

Construction starts on the first phase of the Whiskey Road-Silver Bluff Road connector. The four phase project aims to ease traffic and enable emergency vehicle movement in dense areas of the county. The initial 1.4 mile segment costs 891,272 dollars with paving at 826,272. Phase 2 covers Anderson Pond Road at 1.3 miles with a paving cost of 1,131,965 dollars. Estimated completion ranges from 60 to 120 days for phase one and about a year for the whole project.

SRS waste contract bid group formed for liquid waste closure

Savannah River Tank Closure LLC formed by Parsons Infrastructure and other partners to bid the Department of Energy LW contract at Savannah River Site. The project aims to close large underground tanks holding about 35 million gallons of liquid radioactive waste and reduce program and environmental risk. Fluor Corp. heads Savannah River Nuclear Solutions as a partner in the STC group.
