Rice seeks private meeting with commission over Clarke remarks
National security adviser seeks a private session with the commission amid political maneuvering over Richard Clarke's charges. Analysts say the dispute centers on politics rather than legalities as Rice aims to counter claims Clarke damaged Bush’s credibility ahead of the election. Clarke's testimony and new book promotion heighten the public relations battle.
