Judge Grants Directed Verdict in Reckless Homicide Case

In Aiken County, Judge Walter Bristow Jr. directed a not guilty verdict for 22 year old Robert Maher in the April 23 1981 head on crash that killed motorcyclist William Collins. The state failed to present enough evidence for a jury trial. Ted Hatchell found guilty of interfering with an officer with seven months in jail and two years probation in an unrelated trial.
