Howard A. Weeks 30 and his wife Arlene 28 were found dead along with Kevin Wiebe 8 and Todd Wiebe 10 in the Weeks home in southeast Portland. Officials indicated the murders likely happened Monday morning and described the scene as exceptionally brutal.
Police report an 11 year old boy killed his parents and sister before taking his own life in Richardson Texas. The four victims were Robert L. Nichols 47 editor of a trade publication Jeannie 51 Debra 12 and Kevin 11. Neighbors recall the boy as intelligent and authorities say no motive is found.

The FBI reports a car theft ring stole luxury vehicles on the East Coast and registered them in New Jersey using counterfeit North Carolina titles. In two years, authorities recovered over 600 blank counterfeit titles worth about 500 dollars each. Two alleged ring members were arrested Monday. about 125 others were arrested previously across New Jersey New York Connecticut Pennsylvania and the Carolinas.
Randolph Hearst bets on charity aid to pry loose his kidnapped daughter Patricia after a $2 million program that distributed about 35 000 cartons with prime meats and produce.
