Release of Pamela Tanner killer Blackburn nears
Elizabeth Tanner says freeing William Gary Blackburn from prison would have happened sooner or later and she is satisfied. Blackburn was sentenced to life in January 1977 for hiring Leonard Crosby to kill Pamela Tanner and set her car on fire. His sentence was reduced to 30 years with credit for time served after a negotiated plea admitting accessory status. The release follows a Feb. 27 court order.
