South Carolina teen plans insanity defense in school bombing case
Florence South Carolina 18 year old Ryan Schallenberger will seek an insanity defense in a plot to blow up Chesterfield High School. His trial is postponed to August after a mental evaluation is ordered. Police found ammonium nitrate and bomb making materials in a package addressed to him.

No charges for hoax Amber Alert in South Carolina
Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett said Tarah Hilliard 18 lied to her mother about a kidnapping triggering an Amber Alert. She did not tell officers the tale and was unaware of the statewide search, so no charges are expected.
Hilliard Story Leads to Discovery of Voluntary Exit
Hilliard left school early on Tuesday and told her mother she had been kidnapped by two men. Investigators later determined she left the premises voluntarily about nine hours after her departure.
