North Augusta board budget hearing attracts mixed comments
At a meeting last week Brad ley invited public input on the district budget but only a few spoke Tuesday. Vicki Simons urged reviewing dental screening proposals with no extra cost, while Bob White praised district cash handling after examining the current budget and financial statements. Clayton Tyson urged support for teachers and coaches, noting their impact on students beyond academics. A parent and retired educator pressed for smaller class sizes and increased funding for basic and below basic students under the 2006 PACT. Some speakers suggested tax increases to fund programs, with encouragement to inform residents about potential changes.
