Sanford rejects $700 million federal stimulus funds

Governor Mark Sanford announced he will not seek to use about 700 million dollars in federal stimulus cash to pay debt or fund state projects. He argues stimulus funds do not create jobs and will raise future taxes, despite South Carolina set to receive around 2.8 billion over two years. The White House blocked his debt plan, while Alaska's Palin also rejects a portion of funds.
