Court re opens lawsuit in Cumbee Center case
Court of Appeals reinstates a multi million dollar lawsuit against the Cumbee Center, ordering retrial for the 1997 civil suit in Aiken. The ruling reverses a directed verdict that dismissed the case brought by Irene Russaw, mother of Sebrenia Russaw Neal’s children, who was killed April 19 1995.

Sunny skies and near seventy degree temperatures set the scene for the 33rd Aiken Steeplechase at Ford Conger Field. Gates open 9:30 a.m. with post time 1 p.m. for six races about every 30 minutes, drawing 30,000 spectators as the National Steeplechase Association season opener.
