Burnettown man detained after carjacking on Church Street
A 37 year old Burnettown man Matthew Parsons was detained in Ai ken County after allegedly carjacking a man at gunpoint on Church Street in Clearwater. The victim fled to a restaurant on Jefferson Davis Highway and Parsons was later detained at a Belvedere Road home. The vehicle was not found. Parsons remained in custody Monday morning. Aleaka Baker, 24, was detained on multiple charges after striking a woman with a rock and trying to hit another with a baseball bat on Filyan Acres Lane Warrenville. She faces two counts of third degree assault and battery, malicious injury to real property, and trespassing. Baker was found in a wooded area down the road. The victim declined EMS. The owner plans to press charges for rental property damage.

Aiken DPS reports DUI and shoplifting incidents in area
A 55 year old Aiken woman was detained for driving under the influence on Banks Mill Road after weaving and failing sobriety tests. A 27 year old man was jailed for DUI on Whiskey Road after speeding and weaving. Shoplifting incidents occurred at Whiskey Road and York Street stores and a denim jacket at Aiken Mall. A 16 year old reported stolen cellphone at Aiken High School. A vehicle theft was reported on South Boundary Avenue. A 39 year old Gloverville man was detained for DUI on Williston Road after failing sobriety tests. Burglary reported on Hillvale Street, jewelry missing. another burglary on Rosemary Street. Vehicle break-ins on Glensdale Lane, Creekridge Road, I-20 East, Graniteville. GPS unit reported missing from a Glensdale Lane vehicle.
