Man faces 2016 Graniteville shooting charge
Aiken County Sheriff's Office charged 19 year old Danon Jacques Wells with attempted murder unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with a July 2016 shooting at the Kalmia Apartment complex in Graniteville. The incident left a 17 year old Beech Island resident hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg. Wells was arrested Wednesday and jailed at the Aiken County detention center.

NRC gives early nod to small modular reactor plan
