Stonerside Stable’s four year old Bob and John, trained in Aiken by Tim Jones, will be honored as the 2006 Aiken Trained Horse of the Year in a ceremony at the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum. Volunteers Aid Helping Hands Through Project Vision Effort
Dozens of Savannah River Site staffers and UPS Brokerage volunteers joined Helping Hands residents and staff for yardwork and repairs. The event, sponsored by United Way of Aiken County, involved up to 300 volunteers across Aiken and North Augusta sites, with many SRS workers shifting to weathered tasks and mentoring youth.

Warren L. Stephens aged 54 of Beech Island was charged with assault and battery after a near collision on East Pine Log Road led to a fight in a Banks Mill area parking lot. A 49 year old Aiken man reported being punched and identified Stephens as the attacker.
