Plant Officials Weigh Reopening After Major Blaze
Officials at Para-Chem Southern Inc in Greenville County assess reopening after a fire that damaged two floors, forced evacuation of about 600 residents, injured three workers including Ray Wright in ICU, and disrupted roughly half the plant’s production. Firefighters battled the blaze for over an hour starting around 2 p.m. until 3 1 2 hours later. The cause remains undetermined though static electricity is suspected.
