Students compete in Savannah River DOE Science Bowl
CSRA students from 15 high schools, 24 teams, gathered at USC Aiken for the Savannah River Regional Science Bowl. Lakeside High School Evans GA won an all expenses paid trip to the National Science Bowl in Washington DC April 26 30. Augusta Prep placed second and Greenbrier High School was third. Approximately 120 students participated with guides from Kim Mitchell of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions Education Outreach noting team strengths in math and chemistry. Volunteers at SRS supported scoring and timing as part of a broader DOE NSB program expanding to thousands of students nationwide.

Police support group gifts drone to sheriff's office
The Fraternal Order of Police CSRA Lodge 6 presented the Alkee County Sheriff's Office with a Movic Pro drone to aid Searches, tracking, and building searches. President Bob Besley highlighted the device's live imagery, range, and 30 minute battery as a modern tool for locating missing persons and suspects.
