Aiken group aims to save bay for Virginia Acres park
The Aiken County Open Land Trust began buying the bay two years ago and has raised $300,000 of $600,000 needed. Volunteers will donate the land to the city of Aiken once purchase is complete, preserving a pristine, rustic area within Virginia Acres. Public trails around the bay are open and donations are welcomed.
