Langley Bath Clearwater Middle School After Six Alarm Fire

Emotions run high at Langley Bath Clearwater Middle School after a six alarm blaze left the building empty for a second day. Five seventh grade classrooms were deemed structurally unsound with three more possibly unsafe. Only 10 lockers were damaged while rest of the property and personal files faced smoke and water loss. replacement insurance will aid inventory and recovery. No one was hurt.

Aiken plans to fight two lawsuits over storm water runoff affecting Hitchcock Woods. The Hitchcock Foundation and Nlehr Brisbin allege city actions harmed property. the city has halted work and spent about 600000 on drainage projects while seeking a study and resolution.

Four Juveniles Charged With Arson In LBC Fire

Four juveniles are in custody after an arson fire at Langley Bath Clearwa ter Middle School Sunday morning. Ages 13 14 15 two 15 year old Midland Valley High School students charged with burglary and arson. Investigators from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and SLED coordinated the probe with Sheriff Howard Sellers noting the incident disrupted the school system. Five classrooms burned with smoke damage to three more.

Penrod Stables bring racehorses to Aiken Trials routine

Trainer Steve Penrod and staff wake at 6 am to exercise 30 two year olds at Penrod Stables in Aiken ahead of the end of March Trials. The Kentucky group enjoys the climate and quiet nights as they prepare horses with daily routines and travel from Kentucky each December. Tom Bergin, Irish-born assistant, praises Penrod while Bernadette supports daily workouts.
