The Hitchcock Rehabilitation Center hosts a two day state wide seminar on April 1 2 for rehabilitation professionals in Aiken. Miss Yvonne Norton chief occupational therapist presents Feedback and Sensorimotor Development Identifi cation and Treatment in Deficit. Attendees include physicians physical and occupational therapists speech therapists psychologists and special education teachers from across South Carolina.

Fencing Contract Awarded for Interstate 20 in South Carolina
The State Highway Department awarded S. M. & Inc. of Kinston North Carolina a 435 215 contract to erect fences along sections of Interstate 20 from the Savannah River to State Route 6 near Red Bank in Lexington County. Three bids ranged to 513 196 25 with approval by the Highway Commission on February 18 after bids opened February 16.

Southern Bell to Spend 63.6 Million on South Carolina Expansion
Southern Bell plans a record 63.6 million dollar expansion in South Carolina during 1971. Unemployment Up In Aiken Edgefield Areas
The South Carolina Employment Security Commission reports 1,017 insured unemployed in Aiken and Edgefield for the week ending Feb 27, a 4.1 percent rate, up from 4 percent. Initial claims in the two counties totaled 93 for the week ending March 6, up 23 from the prior week. State insured unemployment reached 21,824 at a 3.5 percent rate.

Teachers Attend Academy Educator Orientation Program
Two area educators, Lorene W. Carson and Marion Webb, joined about 25 South Carolina school officials visiting the U S Air Force Academy in Colorado. They learned about admissions, counseling, curriculum, and intercollegiate activities during a campus tour of the 18 000 acre facility near the Rocky Mountains. Carson resides in North Augusta and Webb in Monetta.
