Augusta man charged in fatal hit and run that killed two DOT workers
Lonnie Dean Miller, 29, of Augusta, was arrested on two counts of hit and run involving a death and one count of hit and run involving injury after a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix struck three SCDOT workers on Augusta Road near Storm Branch Road at 8:32 a.m. Two workers, Anthony Redmond and Robert Clark, died at the scene, and a third sustained minor injuries. Autopsies set for Tuesday in Newberry. Investigators from SCDOT, the Highway Patrol, and local agencies reviewed the scene and conducted follow up.
