The Electric Power Consumers Association reports rapid growth since a February 14 Columbia meeting and a week later headquarters opening in the Columbia National Bank building. Membership includes Hartsville Oil Mill Yorkville Cotton Oil Co and several mills and gins across the state. The group compiles South Carolina rates to compare with other states, arguing current charges push industries to relocate for fair, uniform rates.
