Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel review critiques sequel
A mixed verdict notes the film trails the charm of the original with hurried plotting yet delivers enjoyable performances from Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. The Jaipur setting, colorful visuals, and a lively wedding finale provide some lift, though the title’s claim invites unfair comparison. The cast, including Dev Patel and Richard Gere, keeps the mood buoyant despite a thin plot and a dropped subtext note.
