Population aging prompts action in South Carolina

Ruth Siegler of the SC Commission on Aging says the states elderly population is rising fast with 345,900 aged 65 plus in 1985. By 2014 to 2030 one in four residents will be 39 or older, while only 2.8 percent live in nursing homes. The state spends about 101 million yearly on elderly programs.
