Stans Pleads Guilty to Campaign Law Violations

Former Commerce Secretary Maurice H. Stans pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts of violating campaign finance laws as chairman of the Nixon 1972 re election committee. He said violations were unintentional and defended his actions as good faith. The judge ordered a presentencing report but did not set a sentencing date.

Marshall Cain Resigns From State Office

The Aiken County Board of Education acted on parts of a 110 page State Department of Education report.
