Brooks given guilty verdict in brutal downtown assault case
The 22-year-old suspect Brooks was found guilty of an attack on a stranger near Playoffs Sports Bar in July. The victim suffered severe facial injuries and was left naked in a Park Avenue median before being found and hospitalized. Authorities cited DNA, surveillance footage, and hotel camera records linking Brooks to the crime. Prosecutors urged a merciful sentence while acknowledging the impact on the victim and her family.
