Alzheimer's buddy program pairs patients with medical students
In Chicago 80 year old Dan Winship, a retired physician, teams with first year medical student Jared Worthington in a Northwestern led buddy program. The pairing offers a personal view of Alzheimer's while giving patients purpose and social engagement as students gain early exposure to aging and dementia care. Beth Kallmyer of the Alzheimer’s Association praises the effort.
