Volunteers reexamine 2008 Calvert disappearance on Hilton Head
A group of retired officers and attorneys from the Lowcountry Retired Law Enforcement Officers Association has begun a fresh review of the March 2008 disappearance of John and Elizabeth Calvert. The couple, owners of Harbour Town businesses, vanished after meeting their bookkeeper Dennis Gerwing, who later killed himself as a person of interest. Beaufort County Sheriff PJ Tanner suspects Gerwing but says others may have information. The volunteers meet in small groups to pursue plausible inquiries and reach witnesses with new leads.
