Youth Hijacks National Airlines Jet in Mobile
A nervous young gunman seized National Airlines flight 475 at Mobile Municipal Airport. After allowing passengers to disembark, the jet flew to Canada. The Pensacola origin flight had 21 aboard with the hijacker the last to board carrying a book and brown bag. Barbara Avery, a stewardess, was ordered to the cockpit as the man demanded to go to Canada.
