New Edgefield police chief fired after six months
Lanny Ross Jr. was dismissed as Edgefield police chief by the city council in a 5 to 2 vote. He had been appointed in September, replacing Mack Ryans who led the force for 25 years. Ross previously worked with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office in Columbia.

North Augusta man arrested in February shooting incident
Richmond County police arrested 19 year old Andre Jamal Tillman of 1962 Seaborn Drive in connection with a February shooting that left James Johnson with powder burns on his face and left arm. Tillman faces assault and battery with intent to kill and firearm charges and is held for extradition to South Carolina.
