Roswell High Trumpets Backlash Over Immigrant Student Removal
In Roswell New Mexico 18 year old pregnant student Karina Acosta was ticketed for blocking a fire lane and driving without a license. Police summoned immigration authorities and Acosta was sent back to Mexico. The incident sparked protests and charges of racism with teachers, students, and parents clashing as officials suspended the campus program and reassessed police powers on school grounds.
