FOIA concerns at Aiken County School Board executive session
The Aiken County Board of Education faced questions about violating the state FOIA by voting 7 to 2 to enter executive session to discuss a proposal from Public Education Partners on hiring a new district superintendent. Attendees noted no clear contractual basis and that the discussion of the committee’s makeup occurred in private session without open discussion of personnel. Aiken Standard reporter Tim O Briant urged public discussion of strategy.
