Abandoned 1960s bomb shelter found on private property
An unused home shelter from the Cuban Missile Crisis era was uncovered on Coker Spring Road by Joanna Glass while clearing a paddock area for horses. The 20 by 20 foot chamber, four feet underground with tar paper lining and a drainage drain, shows signs of former food storage shelves and rotted wood lining.
